“Be still and know I am God. I will be exalted.”– Psalm 46:10
LISTEN TO WISDOM
Does not wisdom call out? And understanding raise Her voice? At the highest point along the way where the paths meet, she takes a stand; beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance, She cries aloud: To you, O people,
I call out; I raise my voice to the human race. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on Wisdom. Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness.
All the words of my mouth are just; not one of them is crooked or perverse. To the discerning all of them are right; they are upright to those who find them. Choose my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge instead of choice gold, for Wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with Her.
“I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; and I possess knowledge and discretion. To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride, arrogance, evil behavior, and perverse speech. Sound counsel and judgment is Mine; I have insight and power.
By Me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; by Me princes govern the land, and nobles rule the earth. I alone am wise.
I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me find Me. With Me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.
My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. I walk in the way of righteousness, and along the path of justice, bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love Me while making their treasuries full.
The Lord brought Me forth as the first of His works, before His deeds of old; I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be. When there were no watery depths, I was given birth, when there were no springs overflowing with water; before the mountains were settled in place; before he made the dust of the earth, I was given birth.
I was there when He set the heavens in place; when He marked out the horizon; when he established the clouds above; and when He gave the sea its boundary so the waters did not overstep His command; when He marked out the foundations of the earth, I was at His side.
I was filled with such delight day after day, rejoicing always in His presence, rejoicing in His whole world and delighting in mankind.
“Now then, My children, listen to Me; blessed are those who keep My ways. Listen to My instruction and be wise; do not disregard it. Blessed are those who listen to Me, watching daily at My doors, waiting at My doorway. For those who find Me find life and receive favor from the Lord. But those who fail to find Me harm themselves; all who hate Me love death.”
LISTEN TO GOD
The first step in mastering your mind is to silence it. Whether you are speaking or not, if you are actively overthinking, you won’t be able to listen. You cannot learn new things or have eureka moments if your mind is racing with anxious thoughts. We need to still the waters within so we can connect and listen to His voice.
Wisdom is Freely Available to All of us from the Unlimited Source of His Nature & Force.
As it is written, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” – James 1:5
Being mindful of God enables us to seek Him, pray to Him, and meditate on Him in our hearts. Being mindful is to take note of something and whether that is your anxious thoughts, or the Word of God, the choice is still yours.
Mindfulness is a breathing practice that teaches us how to be mindful of the ‘NOW’ moments we find ourselves in. It’s a way of silencing our busy minds, and it works just like heartfelt prayer.
Become mindful of this moment and take one deep breath. Then think about everything you are grateful for. Gratitude is the best attitude.
Now think about the condition of your heart. It’s beating, you are breathing, you are alive!
When we become mindful of our own thoughts, our fears, our doubtful hearts, we consciously take control of them by calling them out.
Now, if you catch yourself thinking or doing something that does not line up with the healthiest version of you, you can rebuke it, remove it, and replace it with God’s Word.
As it is written, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Transforming the way you think will take some work on your end. It requires that you recognize thoughts that don’t line up with God’s ways. His ways are above our ways.
As it is written, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:32
Psychology gurus would tell us to think only good uplifting truths about ourselves and the people around us. By loving yourself in an unconditional way, you remove thoughts that just don’t belong. Things like doubt, fear, shame, rejection, and condemnation.
This is one of those ideas that seem good on paper, but without God’s Spirit and heart it will only last until the environment triggers our emotions and your Zen Medication fails.
The truth is all of us have blind spots, and most of us suffered trauma at a young age, and therefore we act out. We live with doubt in our hearts, just hiding behind white picket fences acting like we’re okay, but we’re not.
Raw and real, that is what the world needs. We need to be vulnerable and open up about what is holding us down so others can stand in the gap and pray. Strongholds aren’t easily torn down and that is why teamwork makes God’s dream work. He desires to see people set free.
Every time you choose to follow the animal nature, the fearful, self-preservation, prideful, self-seeking way of thinking, you choose to follow a path of destruction, and that is why God wants to renew your mind, so you can choose to listen, and do things with Wisdom.
To be mindful of your own thoughts is easy, you know what you are thinking. To be the master of them, that is the real challenge. Before you can be the master, you need to remove any false beliefs you’re holding onto. Beliefs that can cause emotions like anger, unforgiveness, and shame to defile you.
Once you are set free from these negative emotions you will see new life spring forth. Think of this as a season in your journey where you will be cleansing your heart.
Every thought we think is like a seed, and we water these seed by accepting the thought. When you give life to the idea, it starts to grow, and depending on the nature of that seed, you will either be blessed or cursed.
This is a Universal law some termed “Karma”, and it’s simply the Order and Wisdom of God at play to bring forth harmony inside chaos. Life and death, it’s all the same, from dust we came. We can’t have one without the other. Then there would only be eternity.
As it is written, “There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die.” – Ecclesiastes 3
The kingdom of God, the living, breathing, manifested Word of God can bring forth life, but it can also bring destruction if used with wrath and hatred. Look at Noah and the Ark.
We have been given the authority to speak things into existence and with this comes a great responsibility, not only for us, but also towards those around us. Are you mindful of your thoughts and action in line with God’s Spoken Word? If you are, you are blessed.
Jesus said to them, “Blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” – Luke 11:28
Humility means accepting the fact that you do not know everything. I, therefore, accept the fact that I might be wrong. But there is one thing I am sure of: Wisdom is always there to support us, but we need to have a desire for it, and we need to ask and seek to get educated.
As it is written, Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” – John 16:24
You have embarked on this transformational journey with Bodybuilding for Christ. I salute you for that. I’ve made it my mission to share everything I know, everything I’ve experienced, and everything God puts in my heart and soul.
What you do with this information is up to you, but if it should serve you well, use it to the best of your ability. Ask God to bless your path with the desire to learn and do more as you grow.
Once you calm the waters within, you will have the freedom to breathe deep and just let go. Take time to cultivate a state of mindfulness, and above all things, seek wisdom from God.
As it is written, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom, and get understanding.” – Proverbs 4:7
The Holy Bible says that to depart from evil is wisdom, and the beginning of knowledge is to revere God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. This means we need to know the Word of God, and we need to discern what’s good if we are going to win this unseen battle for our hearts.
As it is written, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” – Ephesians 6:12
