Lifestyle Journaling – Renew Your Mind
In today’s post we’re going to go through a few lessons just to help you set proper goals that you can use to visualize something that drives you forward each day. Buy yourself a quality journal where you can set your personal goals, make notes, and even write down your prayer requests.
Then the LORD answered me: “Write down this vision and clearly inscribe it on tablets, so that a herald may run with it.” – Habakkuk 2:2
The words we think, speak, and write have the power to transform our lives and what you focus on is what you become. If you can see yourself a certain way and then act the part, you will transform as your beliefs as your brain creates new pathways known as neurogenesis.
What I would like you to do with this journal is to use it for daily meditation. Reading about who you want to be and how you want to present yourself in the world is important if you want to change.
Write down lessons you are learning as you go through our online coaching course and remind yourself every day of things that really stand out profoundly for you. Humans are forgetful and that is why the Bible is sometimes referred to as the book of remembrance.
Make this book your own. Try to apply it in your own way and learn from experiences that give birth to what is known as wisdom. We can obtain knowledge through reading, listening and by following mentors. But it’s only when we apply things we know that we can gain experience in everyday life, and that is where we find wisdom. Just look at the life of Solomon, the wisest man to ever live.
Most of the time we have the knowledge, we know what’s good for us, but we still make mistakes because we don’t know how to apply that knowledge when the heat is turned on and this is why God will sometimes through us into the deep end of allow us to make mistakes for which there is enough grace so we can learn and grow as we mature.
The beauty of humanity is the fact that we are much more than what we’ve been told by the world. If you did not know this already, then you should be shocked to know that you are made in the image and likeness of God, and that statement is one that’s not placed under enough thought.
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” – Genesis 1:27
Think about this for just a moment: For decades humans have tried to label, worship, and find God. But if God’s Word says we are made like Him, then we just need to learn who we are to know Him.
As Jesus said in the Gospel of Thomas, “When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living Father. But if you will not know yourselves, then you dwell in poverty, and it is you who are that poverty.” Amazing right?
We are co-creators with God, and we aren’t just consumers as we’ve been told. We are not like the animals who only consume and then die as part of the circle of life. We can create things that have the power to change the future. We have gifts and talents and we can create life with our words.
Just think of what Jesus did, He died for the lost and His name and essence is now perpetuated throughout eternity. He is seated with God in heavenly places. Unseen, surreal, but still so real.
You and I carry the same power to influence the next generations and in the words of Uncle Ben, “Peter, with great power comes great responsibility.” So, use your words and time wisely and write your future through meditations, journaling, and thoughtful actions that create life and not death.
My goal is to teach you how you can make this online coaching course your own faith based journey, your own lifestyle fitness journey, and your own personal season of spiritual growth towards maturity as you learn to listen intuitively to that voice of wisdom that’s always available to us.
Wisdom calls out in the street, she lifts her voice in the square; in the main concourse she cries aloud, at the city gates she makes her speech: “How long, O simple ones, will you love your simple ways? How long will scoffers delight in their scorn and fools hate knowledge?
All of us know what is good for us and what is not. My job as a coach is to strengthen you to do what you know is good for you and to deny what is stealing your joy. Go buy yourself a meditation journal.
You are pre-destined as a child of God.
“You were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you used to walk when you conformed to the ways of this world and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience. All of us also lived among them at one time, fulfilling the cravings of our flesh and indulging its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature children of wrath.
But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved! And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might display the surpassing riches of His grace, demonstrated by His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.” – Ephesians 2

And remember, don’t just pray for a blessing. Be a blessing and you will be blessed as you allow the Spirit of Christ to flow from your heart like rivers of living water. Stagnant water rots, so open the taps of love.
