To BUILD a relationship with someone you don’t know and can’t see is almost like meeting someone on a dating site. You get a picture of the person, and by looking at them you either like them or you don’t. If you do like them, you decide to read their profile, and if you like what you see, you send them a private message.

This is how all new relationships will start. Someone shows an interest in your heart. They desire to see more of you, and they communicate this desire by letting you know. If you feel the same you let them in. Slowly over time you learn to trust, and then love begins to flourish as desire fades away.

Having a relationship with God is not much different. When we take one sincere step towards God, He takes 99 steps towards us.

He has a desire to be known by us, and He wants to show us how well He really knows us.

But still, having a relationship with God is much different than having a relationship with a flawed human. To know the Almighty and to be known by Him is a whole new ball game. It gives eternal value to the life we live.

Being intimate with God is like sitting outside on a beautiful summers day. You feel the sun kiss your skin as a cool breeze blows through your hair. You ask God to stop the wind and He does. Then you feel the heat without the cool breeze on your skin. God knows what’s best for you.

This is how it is to have a relationship with God the Father, He knows you so well, and loves you so much, that He gave you the free will to ask, seek, and find. He wants you to find more and more of Him as He reveals Himself to you every day in the smallest detail and answered prayer. There is always more we can learn from Him.

As it is written, “Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” – John 16:24

He is not concerned with our level of comfort; His only concern is with our heart (character). In a world of consumers, He wants to turn us into givers; and in a world of complainers, He wants us to celebrate and dance with joy knowing He is the God who creates order in and through us.

The LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or height, for I have rejected him; the LORD does not see as man does. For man sees the outward appearance, but the LORD sees the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7

God will sometimes allow the sun to burn you so you can see your choices aren’t always the best choices, and this gives you a desire to seek His will for your life just as Jesus Christ did when He was in tears praying to God.

As it is written, “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.” – Luke 22:42

In the Holy Bible God shows up as a protective Father, a loving Brother, and a wise nurturing Mother. He does this is to demonstrate His own character. He is Three-in-One, the 7-Fold Spirit, He is in all things, through all things, and all things hold together in Him. And we are here to share His love as family was designed to.

The unconditional agape love of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is what leads us to repentance. The goodness of God gives men and women who have fallen as a result of their own destructive ways the freedom to come to Jesus seeking forgiveness. God wants to change your character with His agape love. Which includes tough love.

As it is written, “Do not withhold discipline from a child; although you strike him with a rod, he will not die. Strike him with a rod, and you will deliver his soul from hellfire.” – Proverbs 23:14

As it is written, “My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD, and do not loathe His rebuke; for the LORD disciplines the one He loves, as does a father the son in whom he delights.” – Proverbs 3:11

All of us do what we do for family. Whether that is to make our parents proud or to be good parents ourselves, all of us want to be loved, and we want someone to love. We were made by the love of God to love and to be loved.

So, ask yourself, “Why do I do what I do? Why do I work? Why do I exist? Why am I reading this?”

You see, when you look at Jesus Christ and what He did, what He stood for, and the Words He left for us to meditate on and think about, you will see that Jesus laid down His life so that His legacy, God’s promised heritage, and the Name of Jesus Christ would be perpetuated eternally.

His message: Sacrifice for the ones you love.

Just think about it. Everyone knows who Jesus Christ is. The lamb of God who died for the sins of the world. No one should have to force Jesus on anyone by Bible bashing them about who God is. They know who God is.

As it is written, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts.” – Romans 1:20

Jesus Christ laid down His life to open our eyes. He died so we could walk in the gift of authority to change things. He died so we can offer the same sacrificial love to each other, so we can truly worship God in truth and in Spirit, which to Him is a sweet-smelling aroma. This is why Jesus Christ kept repeating to His disciples, follow me.

Jesus said,See, no greater love has any man than to lay down his life for his own friends.”

We were never made by God to be alone. God was alone in darkness and He had the desire to be loved just like we do. We were made in the image and likeness of the Trinity; God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Son. That’s why He placed this desire within our hearts, a desire for the security and intimacy of a loving family. Some place we call home.

As it is written, “The LORD God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make for him a suitable helper.’” – Genesis 2:18

We are all made to share the love of God with those who surround us every day to show them who Jesus Christ is in our actions, our thoughts, and how we sacrifice for the glory of God alone. Not for the likes, not for the attention, but for the Kingdom of God. Whether I live or whether I die, I live and die to God alone.

If we are to represent the love and unity of family, then we have a responsibility to do things God’s way. In the world as we know it today the family is often broken, with divorce rates as high as orders for wedding cakes. And the truth is, we have lost touch with God’s Spirit of love and order, and we have lost touch with our First love. The One who is closest to us.

Fathers are beating mothers, and mothers are rejecting daughters, and so the vicious cycle continues as homes are ripped apart by the domino effect of the economic world. We have hardened our hearts, and it’s time to turn our hearts back to the Word of God.

In the book of Malachi, the LORD warns us of the consequences of not being obedient to His Word when He says, “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him for all. I will send the prophet to you before the great and dreadful day of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; else I will come and strike the land with a curse.” – Malachi 4:4

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32

I’ve learned that once you forgive EVERYONE who has ever hurt you, including yourself, and once you can rebuke every false accusation that has been set up against you, and once you can bless your enemies and not curse them, only then can you come face to face with God the Father. This is called sanctification, and it’s a process of refinement we all must go through before we can enter His throne room in prayer.

As it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

You need to know the world is a seductive place where families are getting torn apart by the enemy every single day. That’s why I designed this platform; to strengthen the body of Christ and lead wo/men to God so they can lead their families, their workplace, and their community back to the Shepherd.

As it is written, ‘I will tend My flock and make them lie down, declares the Lord GOD. I will seek the lost, bring back the strays, bind up the broken, and strengthen the weak; but the sleek and strong I will destroy. I will shepherd them with justice.” – Ezekiel 34:15

The protection and love of a family is what we all need to prosper. Without a healthy strong family, we will feel like orphans in this distorted world just looking for a place to call home. The Word of God says we are like lost sheep without our Shepherd, and wolves will lead us astray.

As it is written, “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand.” – John 10:27

You’ve given your heart to Jesus Christ in faith, and you’ve made the decision to turn back to God the Father. You need not worry about the rest of this unseen journey. He is leading you and if you desire to listen to His voice, He will lead you into the promised land. A land flowing with milk and honey. This is His promise to all.

As it is written, “I have promised to bring you up out of your affliction in Egypt, into a land flowing with milk and honey.” – Exodus 3:17

What is the promised land? I don’t know what your “promised land” looks like, but He does. Once you are refined and defined by the Holy Spirit your desires will line up with the desires of God in a beautifully unique way. Remember, He knows you better than you know yourself, and He will use your gifts to glorify His Name.

As it is written, “Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalm 37:4

As it is written, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” – Matthew 7:11

The “Promised Land” or “Blueprint of Happiness” is a temporary illusion of what we think will bring happiness and fulfillment. Most of us will have more or less the same ideas: Family, sex, money, traveling, farming, building an empire, whatever it might be, it’s not inherently a bad thing. Without ambition or desire, we would all look like crack addicts just seeking a quick fix.

The big question you need to ask yourself is:Has my ‘Blueprint of Happiness’ been shaped by the temporary things of this material world?

The Original Story of faith in the Bible is centered around Abraham, a friend of God. Abraham was known as the father of faith because he believed God and left his mother and father to follow God into the “Unknown” to a promised land flowing with milk and honey.

There is much more to this ancient story than what meets the eye as the Word of God is a parable, which means it makes use of stories to tell of spiritual realities that are revealed to us through God’s Spirit who opens our eyes.

The literal separation from his family or country was not what God had intended, but rather the spiritual inclination to Christ in obedience to finding a deeper relationship with the Force.

This meant a detachment from his worldly ways of thinking in the pursuit for more unity with the “Unknown God” who audibly spoke to him.

When Abraham was ninety-nine years old, the LORD God appeared to him and said, ‘I am God Almighty. Walk before Me and be blameless. I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.

Then Abram fell face-down, and God said to him, ‘As for Me, this is My covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; I will make nations of you, kings will come from you.

I will establish My covenant as an everlasting covenant between Me and your descendants after you, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. And I will give you the land where you are residing as an eternal possession; and I will be your God.‘” – God

You see, if you read the full story of Abraham you will understand why this promise of God was so significant. Abraham’s wife Sarah could not bear a child and their greatest desire was to have a family. Even at 99 years of age Abraham was not a father and Sarah laughed at the fact that God could make a crazy promise like this.

As it is written, “The LORD asked Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Can I really bear a child when I am old?’ Is anything too difficult for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you and Sarah will have a son.” – Genesis 18:14

God knows what we need and desire in order to experience joy and fulfillment. However, the world is also trying to sell us a counterfeit of this “Blueprint of Happiness” that is based on lust for things that do not last. Vanities of vanities say the preacher. Once you are born again, born of water and the Holy Spirit, you will be taken into a process of sanctification by the Spirit of Christ.

As it is written, “Do not conform to the customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good, pleasing and perfect.” – Romans

Once you are born again you will be taken into “the wilderness”, a place where nothing grows. This is the place where you will become refined as God’s Spirit teaches you what is important and where you are stuck. You will learn from Him and this will transform your inner being.

Moses was predestined to lead God’s people from “Captivity” towards a “Promised Land”. Close your eyes for one moment, imagine you are back in Egypt working as a slave.

You think you are happy, but deep down you know there is no peace. Then God sends a man called Moses to liberate you from this bondage. Moses leads God’s people through a wilderness for 40 years before they can enter the promised land. God leads them through a desert to show them who He is as their eternal Source of life.

I believe this walk from captivity to freedom is still taking place within the heart of every child of God. The journey from darkness to light is one of self-discovery and this ancient pathway, the journey of purification, is only obtainable through the Spirit of God, not the will of man.

As it is written, “Not by might, nor by power, but only by the Spirit of God will you succeed.” – Zachariah 4:6

Once you are baptized with the Holy Spirit through the Son of God, Jesus Christ, you will become a new creation. The Spirit of God will lead you into a season to face temptations to show you that your character has changed.

If you learn the lessons and you are obedient, you will start to grow and expand. God builds our trust as He refines our character with Fire. This is what I like to call the fat furnace of life.

This journey of refinement can be painful, but pray every day, repent of your old ways, and learn to obey the Shepherd’s wise voice, not the voice of fear, judgement, or shame.

There is much more to His ways than what meets the eye of our limited understanding and that is why I have stated in my previous post that no man or book can teach you who God is or who you are, for that you will need to seek Him, and everything else will be added.

As it is written, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13

Before you can enter into the promised land, God will refine you until you become like Him. He will use you to serve others, and open the gates of heaven for you right here on earth if you are willing to trust Him in obedience. The promised land is only as far away as you are from Him. Let Him draw you with His love.

God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have this confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God who he has not seen. This commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.”

All of us need to go through pain to become transformed from within. God has placed a spiritual Seed within each of us that will only germinate once it has gone through the Fire.

If we don’t know who we are as children of God, then we will try to find our identity in temporary things of the world, even in labels other people placed on us. It’s important to find out who you are if you are to experience this life as it was meant to be experienced in the presence of God’s life-giving Spirit.

If you know you are a child of God, and you sincerely offered your heart to God the Father in prayer, then you now have a new identity; you should no longer see yourself the way you used to, see yourself the way God sees you.

He sees you as He sees Jesus Christ, His Son. The blood of Christ now covers you for eternity. You don’t have to be anything or do anything, just be yourself, and know that you are good enough to die for. You are His Beloved Bride.

As it is written, “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

When Adam and Eve chose to eat of the fruit, they chose to go against God’s perfect will and spiritually died as they walked away from God, thinking they knew better than their Creator. By nature, we also want to have the power to stay in control and be right. It’s called pride.

All of us are driven by our emotions and manipulated by our feelings. That’s why we make mistakes, and that’s why we will keep making mistakes until we master ourselves through submission to His eternal grace.

After inviting the Holy Spirit into your heart, you will receive a hunger to know God, to know Jesus Christ, and the Word of God. You will also receive a new nature as a sacred child of God.

Things of this world will start to lose their flavor as you receive wisdom, knowledge, and insight. The Spirit of God will open your eyes and ears and empower you to go beyond your fears as you walk into the promised land with Him.

As it is written, “I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Ephesians 3:17

Once you become a new creation, once you understand the magnitude of what God has blessed you with through the blood of Jesus Christ, only then will you understand why Jesus Christ is such a big deal. He sacrifice His own life, and at the same time the life of His Son, so that all (You & I) might live through Him, and that all might come to know Him and be reconciled to Him in the Garden of Eden.

The beauty of denying your old nature to live with God’s nature, is that once you experience the goodness of God’s nature, you desire to have more of it. Once you become a mature child of God, you will see the multiplication of the seeds you plant with your words and deeds. Your life will start to flourish like a tree that is planted by a well of living water, and you will bear good fruit in every season, which is good and pleasing to God the Father.

Jesus said, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, ‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’ Now this is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.

The seeds along the path are those who hear, but the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. The seeds on rocky ground are those who hear the word and receive it with joy, but they have no root. They believe for a season, but in the time of testing, they fall.

The seeds that fell among the thorns are those who hear, but as they go on their way, they are choked by the worries, riches, and pleasures of this life, and their fruit does not mature.

But the seeds on good soil are those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word of God, cling to it, and by persevering produce an abundant crop – The Multiplication of God.” – Luke 8

If you are like the one who hears the word of God with a noble heart, then decide today to lay down your own life as a sacrifice for the ones you love and trust God. Let go of your ego, humble yourself in prayer, circumcise your heart by choice, and follow Christ in faith.

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?” – Matthew 16:24

You will never truly understand how much God loves you unless you become a parent yourself. It’s true, and it’s one of the primary reasons He designed family. The pure joy and inquisitive nature of a child-like Spirit can bring about a new sense of awe and wonder, adding vibrant shades of color to this black and white world.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 18:3

As a boy, I was absolutely fascinated by nature. My dream was to explore the Amazon Forest and discover new species. I had a collection of chameleons, non-poisonous snakes, and a baboon spider who lived inside a shoebox.

My mother, a Professor in human molecular genetics, encouraged me to live a wild life of discovery and wonder for God’s creation.

She would read from the Bible to me every day. I have vivid memories of the sheer joy stories of Adam and Noah brought to my childlike heart. It was all I wanted to hear when she opened the Word of God.

Adam was given the right to name each animal, and Noah was used to build an ark that would save the world. Being raised by a God-fearing, strong, humble mother, who told me stories about Jesus increased my faith in someone I could only see with my imagination. But these stories gave me enough faith to pray to God.

I believed in God the same way a child would believe in Saint Nick. That is, until one night when I heard God’s audible Voice speak to me. All He said was, “Let the butterfly go.” I ran to my mother to tell her what just happened. She came into my bedroom, then she turned to me and said, “I believe it was God who spoke to you.”

Today I understand the weight of those words. We are all potential butterflies. We come into this world as nothing but worms, and all we do is consume. Our selfish nature leads us into making poor decisions. But it’s only by going through these growth pains that we can learn, mature, and change our ways as we transform into beautiful souls who are united with God.

God knows you because He purposefully made you the way you are. He is the one who decided to give you the talents and abilities you have so He could be glorified through them. He is the one who finds joy watching His children grow up, multiply, and fill the earth with His glory. He is the one who will use every detail of our lives like a masterpiece to glorify His Holy Name.

As it is written, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart…” – Jeremiah 1:5

It’s time to go on your knees and pour out your heart and soul before His Holy Throne. Turn your heart to God like a child would.

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” – Isaiah 6:3

In nature, when worms reach a certain genetic set point, they create a cocoon or chrysalis. Inside this protective chasm, they start an amazing process called metamorphosis.

Like worms, we are raised to consume. But at a certain stage of our lives, we’ll experience pain, self-inflicted or not. Then we harden our hearts, to hide our hurt from others because we feel ashamed, we feel weak, and we’re afraid of rejection, and so we stop living in love.

We continue to exist with “our pain”, hardened by the world, unable to truly accept forgiveness. But if we make it through this, and we break free from the old identity, then we can spread our wings and fly. This heart transformation is known as the metamorphosis of your soul.

If we come back to reality for a moment, we see that in this world a healthy family is something that’s rare to find. Things might look good from the outside, but many of us walk around with unforgiveness towards the ones closest to us.

Some of us are so pre-occupied with the things of the world that we no longer cherish the ones we think we love. Mammon has enslaved them, just like the golden calf. Just forgive everyone.

To whom does your soul belong?

As it is written, “No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” – Matthew 6:24

In the wilderness the Israelites kept turning back to their old ways, and they cursed Moses for leading them into a desert. And the moment they had the opportunity, they forgot everything Moses shared with them and lost themselves to the lustful desires of their flesh. This angered Moses so much that He smashed the stone tablets written by God.

Don’t be like the Israelites who heard the Word, but the deceitfulness of the world choked those seeds until they became unfruitful. Choose to run up the mountain after God as you seek Him with all of your heart. He wants to be found, and He wants to reveal Himself to you, but a relationship goes both ways.

As it is written, “Seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33

But as the cliché goes, “You can only take a horse to the water, you cannot make him drink”. Therefore you will need to pray, you will need to do things His way. I’ve dedicated 4 years of my life to write this message to the Body of Christ as a means to strengthen every believer.

God said, “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost! Why spend money on that which is not bread, and your labor on that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of foods. Incline your ear and come to Me; listen, so that your soul may live.” – Isaiah 55:2

Feelings of unforgiveness, the lies people have spoken into our lives, and the rejection we faced from the ones closest to us, all of these attacks were made to blur our vision of who God is.

The world is designed to blind you from the truth by stealing, killing, and destroying what God made for us to enjoy in a place called Eden.

Like Adam and Eve, we think we know what’s best for our lives and the lives of our children. But that’s like eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It is to doubt the Word of God as the foundation of truth we live by in Christ.

Jesus Christ became the foundation for all of us who believe and if we don’t know how to apply his teaching to our lives, we will experience pain and suffering through our own foolish choices.

People who experience abuse and neglect as children grow up in pain and this hardens them. They don’t experience life in a positive way, and these experiences shape their perception of life. Many of these abused children commit suicide as adults and it’s alarming to see the impact mental health disorders like depression can have on our families, and the world around us.

My conclusion to this Spirit Walk is that He will do the work we are unable to if we trust Him. Walking with God is a patient step-by-step process. You won’t have the answers for tomorrow if you don’t focus today.

I am not my own Maker, and I am not your Maker. I am just Jan. I am your brother and through my personal experiences I’ve come to learn that it is not by might, nor by power, but only by the Spirit of God that we can be victorious in this life. He is the Teacher.

As it is written, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”

Think about the words you have just read, and then read them again, but this time meditate on each statement and know God’s heart for you. Jesus became part of creation to experienced our suffering so He could show us that He understands our pain, and He forgives us.

As it is written, “When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” – Matthew 9:36

Then He took our brokenness upon Himself and gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit, to comfort us and guide us through this wilderness as He did in the days where Moses led God’s people out of captivity into the promised land. He wants to set us free from the bondage of eternal slavery.

This journey of self-discovery and growth is known as the Ancient Pathway, and this blog can be used to remind yourself of who you are and who He made you to be; to help you set your mind on the things above. But this can’t replace the free gift of God. He gave you His heart, His own flesh and blood. Jesus Christ.

But in order to walk into the promised land you will need to do things His way and in order to do that you will need to seek Him, and know Him. It’s about obedience in the present moment.

“If you obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.

All these blessings will come on you and follow you if you obey the Lord your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

The fruit of your womb will be called blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and when you go.

The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven. The Lord will send a blessing on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land; the land he swore your ancestors to give you.

The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you. The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, your livestock, and all your crops.

The Lord will open the heavens, to send rain on your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. Pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God and carefully follow them. Do not turn aside from any of His commands, to the right or to the left, to follow other gods and serve them.” – Deuteronomy

Husbands: See your wife the way God, the One who made her, sees her. He is her Father and He deeply loves her, and if you choose to love her, you choose to represent God’s love to her.

You need to know her and know what she needs before she even asks. Love her this way, and she will be your crown and staff. You will be her King and she will be your Queen. Make love to her the way she wants you to. Communicate and ask her what she wants, likes, and dislikes.

Wives: Love your husband the way God loves him, help him grow and support him, take care of him and encourage him, be there for him and motivate him. Ask God to show you how to love him, and then love him the way he needs to be loved. Men are easy, they want to cuddle and then make love. Men want to build things, they want to catch things, and they want to win. Men are simple. They are primal. Give them room to be men. Don’t put a leash around them.

Children: Children, honor your parents, listen to them, and respect them. See them the way God sees them. Allow them to teach you, but never allow them to beat you. Love them and be quick to forgive them. They are also affected by challenges every day in the process of sanctification and the metamorphosis of their soul. Be kids for as long as you can and learn as much as you can. Don’t be lazy or eat too many sweets. Become Bodybuilders for Christ instead.

This is what the Word of God says about love: “Love endures suffering with patience, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. Love is not rude; it is not self-seeking; it is not overly sensitive or easily angered; love thinks no evil. It does not rejoice at injustice but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things. Love never fails.” – 1 Corinthians 13

If you want to be intimate with God, start off by following His Son, and then lay down your life for the ones you love. Living in love is to sacrifice yourself, the old needy identity, to demonstrate God’s love as you are transformed by His Spirit to bear fruits other can eat of, just like a tree of life.

As it is written, “And the two shall become one flesh’: so that they are no more two, but one flesh.~ Mark 10:6-8

God loved us while we were still in darkness, blinded to the truth. Jesus died for us to remind us of who we are and to wash our guilt and shame away. God chose not to look at our weaknesses, so we might learn to do the same for others.

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” – Luke 23:34
