As it is written, “Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalm 37:4
I’ve spent quite a lot of time thinking about what makes us (humanity) do what we do. What separates the average guy from the extra-ordinary? What sets champions apart from the rest of society? It’s desire – It’s that 1 thing in your heart that drives you forward each day.
If we are naturally made with a desire for the sweetest things in life, then that is what we will reach for in our attempt to find satisfaction and comfort. So then the question really becomes, “What do you think will satisfy your desire?”
You need to consider whether the attainment of said desire will bring glory or destruction? What will you have to sacrifice in order to see your heart’s desire fullfilled? Will the sacrifice be worth it? God the Father had to sacrifice His only begotten Son for the ones He loved.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
Do you notice the ‘why’ and ‘who’ in God’s actions? You need to know why you do what you do. What is the purpose of your actions?
Why do you want to build a business or brand? Why do you want to start a church or ministry? Why do you do what you do? What drives you? What makes you move? What inspires you?
THE WRONG DESIRES
“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I, the LORD, search the heart; I examine the mind to reward a man according to his way, by what his deeds deserve.” – Jeremiah 17:9
As you know, the world is a deceiving place. False news, fear-mongering sales tactics, and end-time prophecies. We are brainwashed to live with a lack mentality with a “glass-half-full” outlook on life. Living with a lack mentality will cause you to reach for…XZY…in an attempt to satisfy your needs. Sometimes we do A because we desire C. We have to go through B to learn lessons needed to maintain C, but when we rush with a sense of lust, we will neglect B.
When you reach C by taking shortcuts, doing things impatiently, and going to extremes, you will stop doing A and forget about B (Basics). Eventually you will lose what you had with C.
Simple Example: Young man starts to train in the gym because he desires the sweetness that can be found inside her honeycomb.
He transforms his physique in a year as he trains insane and ignores the pain. Then his confidence increases, and so to his own Ego.
He meets a lovely girl who desires to feel safe and secure, she loves the fact that he is buff. They rush into it, they stir the flame of love, they get married, they tick the box of life’s to-do’s as they both say I do. Married!
They start a family together, work stress takes its toll, and then he stops pursuing her. The sex no longer excites her, and slowly his buff body turns into a dadbod with a limp… They get a divorce, or worse.
This is a stupid but real example of what can happen when you do A to get to C but you neglect the lessons taught by season B.
The purpose of BB4C is to create awareness about the unseen battle we are all facing to become stronger mentally, physically, and spiritually as you walk with the Spirit of God.
Getting clarity about what you want and what you need is important as it will help you discern distractions that steal your joy and keep you from your mandate. God’s desire for you.
If you have been consumed by the television, social media, and the information overload of modern day society, then it might be a good idea to fast and pray. (Click Here – Download)
As it is written, “What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?” – Matthew 16:26
YOUR BURNING DESIRE
Is your health a priority to you? If it is, and you are here because you want to learn and grow. Then you need to have a burning desire to get stronger, leaner, and wiser. I’ve dedicated my life to build something that would empower the body of Christ through my heart’s desire to give freely what I have in my hands, it’s all I have.
I had to ask myself these same questions. What do I prioritize? Why do I do what I do?
I do what I do because it’s the only thing I find good and true. Taking care of yourself will always be a blessing to your own family.
You are a living example to people around you, and when they see what you do, they will want to do it too. You are a leader by simply choosing to do what is good/true.
I’ll ask you again. Why do you do what you do? Is it to get satisfaction? Or do you want to be an excellent example for the people you love?
The latter will keep you going day by day, year after year. The former is short-lived and you will need to reach for it day after day until you die.
Make time to think about what you are doing, and why you are doing it. Align your mind with the Word of God and allow His Essence to shape your heart. The Spirit of God will give you the desire of God, and He will establish your steps if you trust Him to lead you forward in the dark.
As it is written, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” – Ezekiel 36:26
THE SPIRIT OF GOD
Champions become champions because they have a burning desire within them and it’s the Spirit of God who leads them to new heights as they push the boundaries of what is possible for them with fearless hearts. Walking with God will never be comfortable, but it will be worth it.
What I have found in my personal walk is that God will use the insignificant moments to shape and sharpen your character as gold. He is the Potter and you are the clay. Trust Him to know what’s best and just pray, “Let thy will be done.”
In the final step (3) of the MBS-Strategy, we will go into the mysteries of the wilderness season each of us must face. Some of us might spend 4 years in the wilderness, while others walk in circles like the Iraelites for 40 years.
Jesus Christ made it in only 40 days, but He is God, and you and I are not – Remember that, and cut yourself some slack. You are loved.
Whether your heart is still filled with human desires for more, it doesn’t really matter much to God. He is the refiner of hearts and the one who calls Light from the dark. Therefore you need only trust that He has started His work.
As it is written, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; but in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5
TENACITY OF HEART
At a men’s conference, God revealed the word ‘TENACITY’ to me through a brother in Christ. According to my Google search, the word means to persevere towards the vision.
What vision do you have in your heart?
I wish I could tell you the journey will be easy. That in the next 12 weeks you will undergo a ‘Biggest Loser Transformation‘. But that’s not realistic. Short term thinking will only lead to ‘ABC results’, and that’s not what you want.
You need to broaden your horizons and think 3D as you commit to it for 10+ years. We need to dream big and then faithfully work with passion and tenacity towards our heart’s desire, week in, and week out, until we master our craft. Depending on your dream, your season B might take 10 years or more.
As it is written, “Set your minds on the things above, not on things that are of the earth.” – Colossians 3:2
Are you ready for that kind of commitment? Transforming your body takes more than a few workouts and a Banting breakfast. It requires patience, persistence, resilience, and passion.
You are now part of Bodybuilding for Christ. When you commit to consistently stick to it for the next 3 years you will know why long-term efforts pay good dividends. Test it and see…
As it is written, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to take the prize.” – 1 Corinthians 9:24
BUILDERS FOR CHRIST
This online platform is designed for those who want to be strong. Those who have a desire for it. Not just to look good on the beach, or to get into bed with someone you just met, but to get stronger mentally, leaner physically, and bigger spiritually as you are transformed by the hand of God. His Spirit is the Teacher and the Refiner.
In the next chapter of the MBS-Strategy, we will focus on B, B for Body. The main focus will be to educate you on everything I believe you need to know to manage your own body and health.
If you haven’t done so yet, please make sure you read the 3-Day Fat Furnace before we move into the intricate dynamics and mysteries of your physical body, the temple of His Spirit.
P.S. Don’t pray for a blessing, be the Blessing.
